About Laenaia Manaallin

I do claim ownership over the character Laenaia Manaallin, she is soley my creation- except for her last name which came from the naming guide for "Imaskari" on the WOTC website. Laenaia, or Lanie for short, is a Deep Imaskari. When she was just three years old the Deep Imaskari people banished her along with her father to the outside world due to her extremely rare empathic psionic abilities. Deep Imaskari hold magic to the highest degree and anything deviating outside the magic arts is viewed with the utmost contempt and distrust.

The magical seal that so long protected the kingdom of the Deep Imaskar has been breached and there are many amongst the Imaskari who believe that the illithids are behind this breach. There is a hushed whisper that speaks of a higher powered Imaskari who seeks to shatter their enforced isolation and bring the Imaskari out of their long concealed existence in their hidden realm. It is believed that whoever this Imaskari is has formed a strong bond with the illithids.

Laenaia's father, Talnein Manaallin, was given two choices, to stay within the secret realm of the Deep Imaskari and allow Laenaia to be destroyed or to leave with his dauther to live in the world outside their secret realm. He made a promise to his dying wife that he would do whatever he could to keep their daughter alive. Once they had their minds magically excised of their homeland location both Laenaia and her father were brought outside the Great Seal and set free.

It wasn't long before a group of illithids found Laenaia and her father, killing him and taking Laenaia to a secret location where they experimented on her. It was there that Laenaia comes to find out that she was secretly sought after by this specific group of illithids and a certain drow female for her extremely rare abilities. She also discovers that someone within the ranks of her own people traded her whereabouts in lieu of expansion and trade.

She became a rogue illithid experiment where she was routinely tortured and trained for perfection. She is a rarity with untapped potential, a potential that Kimmuriel is quick to discover and desperate to exploit for his own gain.
